English Español Cepsa teams up with Ionity to install EV superchargers in Spain and Portugal

IONITY will install up to 100 charging points at Cepsa Service Stations located on motorways and highways until 2020.

Last update:

Cepsa has signed a collaboration agreement with IONITY, the European high performance charging network formed by the BMW Group, Daimler AG, Ford Motor Company, and the Volkswagen Group for the installation of electric charging points at its service stations in Spain and Portugal.

As a result of this collaboration, IONITY plans to install up to 100 chargers at Cepsa’s sites. The Spanish operator will be responsible for identifying the ideal locations and for providing 100% renewable electricity to these facilities. The first charging points will be operational in early 2019.

For Héctor Perea, Cepsa's Director of Strategy and Corporate Development, this agreement "reflects the company's commitment to providing solutions in the field of mobility, covering all energy needs and offering a fast, quality service, assured by IONITY."

Cepsa, which currently has an extensive network of close to 1,800 service stations in Spain and Portugal, will be the first operator to offer superchargers in the Iberian Peninsula.
